How to apply

  • Open positions are always listed here and in the News section.
  • Joining the core team is a multi-stage process.
  • The first step is to send all required documents listed with each position, in the requested format — usually as separate PDF files.
  • The selection can sometimes take a little longer, as we carefully review every application and want to give each one the attention it deserves.
  • Candidates chosen to move forward will be contacted directly with next steps.
  • We sincerely thank those not selected for their interest and encourage them to apply again for future suitable openings.
  • If no new position is currently open but you would like to join our core team, you can send us a structured CV and we will be happy to keep it on file for future opportunities.

Join a working group

Becoming part of a FISC Working Group is an opportunity to collaborate with leading scientists from around the world, contribute your expertise, and help advance solutions to the urgent problem of forest biological invasions.

Who can apply

Working Groups are open to researchers from a wide range of disciplines — not only specialists in forest biological invasions. Experts in ecology, forestry, entomology, data science, economics, social sciences, and other relevant fields are encouraged to apply. Interdisciplinary perspectives and a collaborative mindset are especially valued.

What participation involves

  • Joining a small, focused team working on a specific research topic.
  • Attending scheduled in-person and online meetings over the project’s duration.
  • Contributing expertise, data, or analytical skills.
  • Collaborating on publications, presentations, and other outputs.
