Andrew Liebhold, a leading expert on forest insect invasions, recently spoke with Research Professional News about his transatlantic move and the broader context of research mobility. Having joined the Forest Invasion Synthesis Centre (FISC) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, he encourages European scientists to take a proactive approach in reaching out to colleagues across the Atlantic.
In the interview, he reflects on the benefits of working in Europe, from stronger social support systems to the collaborative research environment that fosters international partnerships. Liebhold also highlights the importance of personal connections and “grassroots” efforts in attracting top scientists to Europe.
We are pleased to see our Chief Scientist and the work of FISC featured on an international stage — and proud to contribute to the dialogue on strengthening global scientific collaboration.
