Economics of Invasion Biology: Where should countries invest to stop biological invasions?

1 min read

How much should countries invest in preventing invasive species from arriving? And is it sometimes smarter to invest in biosecurity measures abroad rather than at home?

Join us for an interactive workshop exploring how policymakers can make decisions about biosecurity investments – especially when resources are limited.

Edward Whitney (FISC) will present research conducted with Dr. Andrew M. Liebhold (FISC) as part of their project, “Bridgehead Effects and Optimal Biosecurity Policy: When Should Countries Invest Offshore?”

The session will begin with a short presentation (15–20 minutes), with opportunities for questions and discussion afterwards.
