Visiting FISC

This page provides practical information for visitors to FISC. Whether you are joining a Working Group, Advisory Board meeting, or another event, you’ll find everything you need to plan your visit.

Getting From The Airport To FISC

Public transport

  1. Bus 59 from the airport → Get off at Nádraží Veleslavín (final stop).

  2. Metro Line A (green) → From Nádraží Veleslavín take the metro in the direction of Depo Hostivař (platform 1). Get off at Dejvická (2 stops). Follow the signs for “Suchdol” or “Lysolaje”, then take the stairs on the left to Bus 107.

  3. Bus 107 → From Dejvická to Zemědělská univerzita

  5. The faculty building is about a 10-minute walk from the Zemědělská univerzita bus stop and shares the same entrance as the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. View the route on Google Maps.

Getting from the Main Railway Station to FISC

Public transport

  1. Metro Line C (red) → from Hlavní nádraží to Muzeum (1 stop).

  2. Change to Metro Line A (green) → in the direction of Nemocnice Motol → get off at Dejvická.

  3. At Dejvická, follow the signs for “Suchdol” or “Lysolaje”, then take the stairs on the left to Bus 107.

  4. Bus 107 → from Dejvická to Zemědělská univerzita.

Taxi from Václav Havel Airport or from the Main Railway Station

  • Travel time: ~ 35 minutes (depending on traffic).

  • Approximate price: cca. 400 CZK (cca. 17 EUR /20 USD).

  • Use official taxi services or apps (e.g., Bolt, Uber).

  • Payment by card is standard

Tickets – public transport

Approximate prices:

  • 30 minutes: ~40 CZK
  • 90 minutes: ~50 CZK
  • 24-hour pass: ~150 CZK
  • 72-hour pass: ~350 CZK

Tickets can be purchased:

  • via SMS Text: DPT42 (30min) or DPT55 (90 min) send to 90206
  • at ticket machines (metro stations, some bus/tram stops or inside buses or trams)
  • at newsstands

👉 Tickets must be validated when you first use them. However, some tickets do not require validation – these include tickets purchased with a pre-printed time of purchase (typically those bought directly on board buses or trams).

Currency and payments

  • Local currency: Czech crown (CZK)
  • Approximate exchange rates:
    • 1 EUR ≈ 24 CZK
    • 1 USD ≈ 21 CZK

Card payments are widely accepted, including in restaurants and taxis.

Time zone

Czech Republic operates on:

  • Central European Time (CET)
  • Central European Summer Time (CEST) during daylight saving

Internet access at the university

Wi-Fi is available via Eduroam.

Access credentials will be provided upon arrival, as they are generated for each visit individually.
